SPAWN: HELLSPAWN
July 2026 locked PDF · Restricted writing sample
Betrayed black-ops operative Al Simmons returns from Hell determined to reclaim his former life, only to learn that his first truly free choice may be to protect the man he views as his replacement.
The story
Black-ops operative Al Simmons is betrayed and remade as Spawn, a dead soldier caught in machinery that wants to turn his fury into a weapon. Returning from Hell, he is determined to reclaim the life he lost. Wanda and Terry make that desire painfully concrete, especially when Terry appears to occupy the place Al still imagines as his own.
Revenge brings him into conflict with the forces that used him and the city people those forces continue to hurt. Hell rewards his anger; the suit makes violence an available answer. Protecting Terry requires something harder than defeating an enemy. Al has to resist the appetite that makes revenge feel like freedom and recognize a person he has treated as a replacement. This unauthorized first-film sample resolves that human choice while opening the larger conflict between Heaven and Hell.
